Concept art for my passion project, my graphic novel Mountain. This project has taught me how to pour the essence of me into my art. This story is the most ‘me’ of anything I’ve ever made, pulling from my own experiences with grief and identity. It is a strange but funny tale.

After dropping out of university, Hazel has decided to leave city-life behind to start a cafe on the edge of a tiny town. Despite the romantic concept, Hazel’s cafe is deeply unpopular with the exception of one obnoxious customer. As she attempts to salvage her coffee-house, Hazel unknowingly creates a trail of haunting destruction on the mountain.

Mountain is a story about grief, but it is not about moving on.
