ALI MARBECK
Ali is a freelance illustrator, artist and graphic designer based in Boorloo, Western Australia. Her signature style often features rounded forms, cohesive colours and a soft texture. The purpose of her art has always been to comfort. This gentle style provides an avenue to explore darker themes such as loneliness and grief in her narrative work. She has worked with a range of small and large local businesses, including Perth Comic Arts Festival, Chronically Crafty, Little Mushroom Field and the State Library of Western Australia.
Ali loves an expedition, especially if it involves a hike to search for a particular animal. This love for nature and the outdoors is reflected in her work. Due to her own experience with disability, she is also very passionate about the role of art in disability support. Ali currently works part-time with the Subiaco organisation My Place, designing branding and media for artists with disability. This work is collaborative in providing authentic representation, always placing the artist themselves at the centre of their work. Some of her clients include Brad Martin, Martin Cahill and Julia Hales. She holds a Bachelor of Design, double majoring in Illustration and Graphic Design from Curtin University.
In her free time Ali is working on her graphic novel projects and drawing in the wild. For business enquiries please email studio@aliillustrations.com or fill out this contact form.
